My Story: Built in Battle

I’m Morgan; Marine Corps Veteran, wife, mom of three, Certified Cancer Exercise Specialist, Breast Cancer Recovery Coach, and breast cancer survivor. My life has been shaped by battles that pushed me to my limits and forced me to rebuild from the ground up. Every trial has shaped me into the woman I am today; resilient, grounded, and passionate about helping others rebuild their strength from the inside out.

I have always turned to movement as my outlet; my therapy through chaos, grief, and healing. From early life trauma, military trauma, SA, postpartum depression and, ultimately, a breast cancer diagnosis, fitness became my anchor. It taught me that strength is not defined by how much weight you can lift, but by the courage to keep showing up for yourself when life tries to break you.

From Survivor to Specialist

Over the years, I’ve lost over 100 pounds, faced chemotherapy and a double mastectomy, and rebuilt my health piece by piece. Now, I dedicate my life to helping others do the same through Built in Battle Coaching. My coaching platform and community where I guide clients to rebuild their bodies, confidence, and health from the inside out.

Because I believe deeply in creating spaces where every body belongs, I also work part-time at Benefitness, a nonprofit adaptive gym that empowers people of all abilities to move, heal, and thrive. My work (whether one-on-one or in the community) focuses on combining movement, mindset, and lifestyle change to reduce cancer recurrence, manage chronic illness, and improve long-term well-being.

Beyond my work, I’m a mother of three and committed to breaking generational cycles, healing what once held me back, and raising my children to know that strength comes from love, integrity, and perseverance. I strive to be an example of resilience for them. Not by chasing perfection, but by living authentically, leading with compassion, and continuing to grow through every season of life.

When I’m not coaching clients or recording episodes of the Built in Battle Podcast, I’m usually with my family, soaking in the chaos and laughter of motherhood. I’m a lifelong student, always studying something new and expanding my understanding of wellness, recovery, and human potential. I have a love for herbalism and natural healing practices, and when I find a quiet moment, I love getting lost in a good fantasy or romance novel.
